Ryuichi Sakamoto | seeing sound, hearing time celebrates the legacy of composer, producer, and artist Ryuichi Sakamoto (Japanese, 1952–2023). The exhibition features the expansive, site-specific installation async–immersion (2023) co-created by artist Shiro Takatani and Sakamoto, which will be presented in The Studio on Level B2 at M+. A series of works related to Sakamoto’s creations, along with public programmes such as screenings, will be presented in the Found Space, Moving Image Centre and at the Grand Stair throughout the exhibition period, providing deeper insights into Sakamoto’s enduring influence.

Jointly organized by the Metropolitan Museum of Art (The MET) and the Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM), this is the first major showcase in Hong Kong of global jewellery from six continents made over the course of nearly 4,000 years between the second millennium BCE and the 21st century. Marking The MET’s debut in the Guangdong – Hong Kong – Macao Greater Bay Area, the exhibition will showcase approximately 200 spectacular treasures from The Met, exploring the close relationship between body and jewellery.
